Teaching Tuesday
We are done testing!!!! We're taking a short break and getting used to our tiny person before we start up for the summer. While we did finish testing, we haven't finished all our books. We need to get through our science and history books before the start of the school year. We're also going to get into the Animated Stories that I got at the yard sale. Shane is FINALLY reading for fun. Everyone kept saying "find something he's interested in." I bought home books by the dozens. Sports books, animal books, space books, fat books, skinny books, books that sit on rocks. :) Finally Finally Finally, the child picks up Diary of a Wimpy Kid and reads the whole darn thing. He then wants number two. I have literally hundreds of books and I have to go buy number 2. :) Oh well, he's reading and I could cry tears of joy when I see him curled up with his book!

Manic Monday
Whew, what a weekend! It started out calm enough. Johnny came home early and I got to take a three hour nap. *sigh* I've been so tired. Thrust back into babyhood took it's toll. It was a relaxing afternoon. Around 7am my dad showed up and our weekend started. My daddy has never come to visit on his own, it was really nice. We went to Shane's baseball game and my boy hit the ball on got on base for the first time!!! Sadly, they called the game due to time, but his hit let a man get on base and they won the game!!! To be fair, they would have won without his hit, but no splitting hairs. :)

I then pulled the Mother's Day card and got to go to a neighborhood yard sale. My dad and the boys were tired, so they said they were going to get gas and come back and get me. I was having fun just walking around. I managed to get a bag full of clothes for my tiny person. Then I hit the homeschool mother load. I didn't know it at the time. I got a whole series of Animated Stories with the DVD and blank workbooks. When I got home I looked them up, I paid $5.00 and 12 books online was over $300!!!! Possibly my best yard sale find ever. So then I was carry around about 30 books and walking to all these yard sales in the heat. Finally my ride showed by up and we went home. Johnny's friend Mark came over. I had to run and hide. My dad, Johnny, and Marc are worse than any group of giggling teenage girls. They find everything "choke on your drink" funny. Johnny grilled out and I got to take another nap!!!! It's funny how that is the best gift of all right now.
Sunday dawned too early for my blood. We headed out to Portsmouth for my cousin Stephanie's graduation party. She got her MASTER'S! My Aunt Kat, Uncle Paul, cousin Mikah, and Steph's boyfriend were all there too. It was fun hanging out and visiting. The kids were behaving and having too much fun with some game called "cheese touch" (which is from Diary of a Wimpy Kid). Steph got some of the weirdest gifts. My dad got her a shot gun and her Ryan got her a tool kit. She was thrilled. Weird girl. Mom and I got her some paintings by the lovely Paula. We went to Steph's bosses house for a party. The yard was incredible. Jackson kept asking if it was a spa. :) After some time and good food we all headed home. Mom and dad spent the night and are heading back in the morning. It was beautiful weekend.

Photo Friday.
New Blog Schedule.
So I'm going to try a new pattern of blogs. I really enjoy the therapy of blog writing. I love my journal, but with my new tiny person it's harder to get to it. This I can crank out in a few minutes. So hopefully the blog will follow as such:
Manic Monday---Any ramblings from the weekend and the crazy start of our week.
Teaching Tuesday--Updates on our Homeschool Life.
Wacky Wednesday---The funny things my kids have done during the week, or any memory of their wackiness that needs a blog.
Thankful Thursday--Continuing with my thankful posts.
Photo Friday (I refuse to type Foto)--Fun photos from the week.
I hope you'll continue to read and comment on my blog :)

Day 30--MRI Machines
Okay, so this one might sound really weird. No this one DOES sound really weird. I had to have a MRI yesterday. I've never had one, I've only seen them on medical shows. So I was expecting to lay on the table, slide under the tube and be done. Um, this is why you shouldn't get your medical assumptions from Grey's Anatomy! So I had to take my new little person with me. Thankfully my friend Michelle came and sat with him. It thought it would be about 30 minutes, she had to stay 2.5 hours! Anyway, back to the machine. Sadly, I had to get an I.V. I'm serious in that I would rather give blood or even give birth than get an I.V. I hate them. My hand is all swollen and painful today. So I lay on the table and ask how long it will be (remember my 2 minute theory) She says "FORTY MINUTES!!!" What! Also, the sheet from the doctor said I wasn't claustrophobic, I'm not, but that had me worried. So I lay down and they put this cage deal over my face. At this point I just closed my eyes. I slid into the tube, thankfully it was just a head scan so I didn't have to go all the way in. It was really loud and banging in there. However, I've been so exhausted that I nearly fell asleep, I did get 40 minutes of uninterrupted prayer time. Do you know the last time I had that much time to pray? Never, that's when. It was so refreshing. Even though it was loud, I was able to tune all of it out. It was so nice for me. I know this sounds insane, I had to have an very expensive medical procedure to get quiet time. I think this means I need to work a bit harder on carving out some quiet time during the day. But hey, for today, I'm thankful for that machine. Oh, and the test was negative, I'm good!!!!

Day 29--Netflix & Hulu
Oh, I'm so thankful for Netflix. It makes the middle of the night so much easier than 5 years ago. I can watch a show or a movie while someone falls asleep! It's been so nice! I finally finally finally finished Chicago, I swear I've been trying to get to the end of that movie since 2004! Hulu is so awesome to catch up on all the shows I missed trying to get someone to fall asleep. Plus, very little commercial!
